Description THE BIRTHDAY BASH OZ METAL PARTY. FOWLERS LIVE 11/9/2010
With Against The Grain Festival taking a hiatus this year, and festival founder Lee Gardiner ( from Double Dragon ) turning 30 this year, the team from ATG are putting on a big party in September- featuring Australian metal bands from all genres who have toured with or shared a stage with Double Dragon and Truth Corroded over the past five years.
THE BIRTHDAY BASH will follow the blueprint of previous Against The Grain festivals - 12 hours of ALL AGES metal @ FOWLERS LIVE but this time the emphasis being on celebrating Austalian metal as a whole, and the life long friendships that have been forged between some of the touring Australian metal acts. Being spread out over such as vast country, the opportunities for bands on the Australian touring circuit to get together and have a good ole fashioned booze up are few and far between - THE BIRTHDAY BASH promises to be a metal PARTY like nothing ever witnessed in Australia!
Headlining the event will be TRUTH INC CLAN - featuring members and ex members of Truth Corroded and Double Dragon playing classic metal covers . Joining them are Sydneys DAYSEND and SWITCHBLADE, from Queensland NUDGE FROM HEY DAD ( featuring TODDY from the BERZERKER ) and Adelaide favourites LYNCHMADA. From Melbourne we are excited to welcome bacK HUMONIC ( featuring SKITZ from legendary Aussie band DAMAGED ) and from Western Australia we are bringing over DYSCORD, THE MIGHTY SCRAPE and the much hyped new band featuring LORD JIM from CLAIM THE THRONE - ENTRAILS ERADICATED. Joining this stellar interstate cast of metal is Adelaide thrashers SE BON KIRA, a newly reformed A RED DAWN, and new Adelaide bands ISAW, ARCADIA and A MURDER OF CROWS, who are all doing their part in keeping the metal flame alive for the next generation of headbangers in Adelaide.
